Graston Technique®

The Graston Technique® is a patented, instrument assisted soft tissue mobilization technique that stimulates the breakdown of scar tissue and fascial restrictions. With this treatment, we use stainless steel instruments to detect and treat areas with soft tissue fibrosis or chronic inflammation.

With highly designed and specialized stainless steel instruments, the Graston Technique® allows the clinician to detect fibrotic changes in muscles, tendons, and ligaments with more accuracy and quicker results. The stainless steel instruments are used to gently scrape and massage the skin to break down scar tissue and stretch connective tissues around the injury, which stimulates a more productive healing environment for the soft tissues.

This leads to less treatment and rehabilitation time for the patient, while also reducing the need for anti-inflammatory medication. In some cases, this technique can also help resolve chronic injuries.

Dr. Devassy specializes in and has received extensive training in performing the Graston Technique®, and holds the highest possible certification in this technique.
